Table and/or waste monitor at the SE Como Cookout
Saturday, October 8 from noon to 3 p.m.

Minneapolis Solid Waste & Recycling and the Southeast Como Improvement Association (SECIA) are looking for a couple MRCs to help monitor waste stations and man an educational table at the SE Como Cookout. Minneapolis Solid Waste & Recycling staff will be at the event and need some help between tabling and checking waste stations. This event offers the opportunity to educate a lot of permanent residents in addition to University of Minnesota students.

Sort expired lab materials with the UMN Reuse Center
MRCs are needed to help the UMN Reuse Center sort expired lab materials into the appropriate waste stream so the materials can be recycled. They have multiple volunteer opportunities available including sorting area set up, volunteer schedule coordinating, administration work, and sorting materials.

Help reduce toy waste with the Minneapolis Toy Library
October through November
Mondays 9 a.m. to noon, Wednesdays 6 to 9 p.m., and Saturdays 9 a.m. to noon

The Minneapolis Toy Library is looking for volunteers at the South Minneapolis location this fall. Duties include helping families check in or out their toys and putting toys back on the shelves. Volunteers at least 15 years of age are welcome. If you have younger children who can help for up to three hours, bring them with!

Recycling center operator with Hennepin County
The Environment and Energy Department is seeking a recycling center operator to help with screening, unloading, moving, and sorting of solid waste materials for residents at the Brooklyn Park Transfer Station. The closing date is October 11.
