A quick reminder to Minnesota drivers: when you see this stop sign expanded on the side of a school bus, make sure you stop. Drivers who fail to stop could be guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of no less than $500. Please, keep our children safe this school year.
Last month, HCSO deputies participated in the annual "Barbers & Backpacks" event hosted by the NBPA MN at Conway Recreation Center in St. Paul. They gave away 550 backpacks with school supplies to students.
During the month of October, the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office and hundreds of other law enforcement agencies across the nation will be selling our collectable Pink Patches to raise money for the American Cancer Society. More info to come. Click here to learn more.
Minnesota State Fair Wrap Up
That’s a wrap on the Minnesota State Fair! Thank you to everyone who stopped by the booth to say hello! We provided public safety education, recruitment services, handed out Deterra System medication disposal bags, and so much more! Special thanks goes to all of our awesome volunteers. This wouldn’t be possible without them! Thank you to Washington County Sheriff's Office, Dakota County Sheriff's Office, and Drug Enforcement Administration - DEA for sharing our booth on various days throughout the fair. Thank you to the Hennepin County Sheriff Foundation for their support. We can’t wait to see you next year at the Great Minnesota Get-Together!

Each day HCSO Deputy Eric Burleigh walks the halls of Rockford High School. He interacts with educators and students and helps keep the school safe. Deputy Burleigh says this has been his best assignment by far.
