Retiring Hennepin County Sheriff's Office K9 Brody Hosting Pet Adoption Event at Animal Humane Society on Saturday, Aug. 20

August 18, 2022 (Minneapolis) – After nine years in the K9 unit, K9 Brody is retiring from the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO). Before he leaves the force to live as a family pet, K9 Brody is taking on one final assignment: To help other local dogs and other animals find loving “forever homes!”

Brody and the HCSO are partnering with the Animal Humane Society for a pet adoption event on Saturday, Aug. 20 from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm at the Animal Humane Society, 845 Meadow Ln. N. Golden Valley, MN 55422.

The public is invited to celebrate Brody’s career in law enforcement as he is recognized by HCSO and Animal Humane Society Staff, as well as officials from the City of Golden Valley. The Animal Humane Society will have many dogs, cats, and other animals available for adoption at the event as well.

“Brody has been the best partner I could ever have, and I’m excited for him to spend his retirement years with my family and me,” said Brody’s partner and handler, Deputy Greg Granson. “Brody has dedicated his life to serving Hennepin County, and I’m proud that his last official act with the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office will be to help other dogs find new homes.”

The media is invited to attend to photograph the event and to interview HCSO staff on the importance of K9 deputies.
