Mary Ann Key Book Club

Mary Ann Key book club

In collaboration with Star Tribune columnist Myron Medcalf, Hennepin County Library has selected Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler as our Fall 2022 title. The Mary Ann Key Book Club is named after the matriarch of Medcalf’s family who was enslaved in Georgia in the 1850s. The book club honors her memory and is intended to engage readers in discussions about race, racism, antiracism and how our past influences our present with the goal to spur action and accountability. Check out or subscribe to the Mary Ann Key Book Club Newsletter for the latest program updates.
