Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Crash following Police Pursuit
July 16, 2022 (Minneapolis) - The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating Friday’s police pursuit of a wanted murder suspect and the subsequent crash that occurred at 53rd and Humboldt Avenues in Brooklyn Center, MN.
The suspect’s vehicle crashed into a second vehicle with five people inside - the driver and four passengers.
One of the passengers, a 6-year-old girl, has died from injuries sustained in the crash. A 15- year-old girl, also a passenger in the second vehicle, remains hospitalized. The driver and the two remaining passengers have been released from the hospital.
The suspect, who had an active warrant out for his arrest for murder, was taken into police custody at the scene of the crash and remains hospitalized.
This is an active, on-going investigation. No further information is available at this time.
