Statement: Tentative agreement reached with AFSCME Local 34 and Local 2822

Today, AFSCME Council #5 Local 34 and Local 2822 tentatively agreed to a Mediated Settlement Proposal brokered by the State’s Bureau of Mediation Services. This proposal is consistent with the Last Best and Final Offer that was ratified by five other AFSCME Locals in December and is being recommended for ratification by both Local 34 and Local 2822. 

Hennepin County is thankful for the hard work and good faith demonstrated by employees on both sides of the bargaining table. We are hopeful that Local 34 and Local 2822 will ratify this recommended Mediated Settlement Proposal.

Because this Mediated Settlement Proposal is being recommended by both Local 34 and Local 2822, the unions’ intent to strike notice has been withdrawn.
