Connect to resources through the Liberian Business Association in the Diaspora (LIBA)

Liberian Business Association in the Diaspora (LIBA) is a local nonprofit organization that specializes in accessing resources for small and micro African-owned businesses at all stages of development.  LIBA can work with any Hennepin County business for free through Elevate Business HC. In addition to helping small and micro businesses access resources to help build their capacity, they specialize in helping business owners register or apply for active government loan or grant opportunities or access financial capacity building resources through other organizations.  Check out LIBA through Elevate Business

Waste prevention grants available to businesses and nonprofits

Hennepin County is providing free resources and assistance for small businesses and nonprofit organizations to start or improve recycling and organics recycling. Applicants may select up to $3,000 worth of containers and compostable bags from the county's product list. Review the 2022 Business recycling bin and compostable bag grant guidelines (PDF) and grant flyer (PDF) for details on container and bag options. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until Monday, November 14, 2022, or until the annual program budget is exhausted. Learn more and apply
