Hennepin County Sheriff's Office Water Patrol Investigating Fatal Jet Ski Crash on Lake Minnetonka

June 30, 2021 (Minneapolis) - At approximately 5:45 pm today, Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office Water Patrol deputies responded to a call of a jet ski crash on East Upper Lake on Lake Minnetonka.

Upon arrival, they found one person unresponsive. Boaters had pulled the victim out of the water and started CPR. Deputies took over life saving measures and transported the victim to Water Patrol Headquarters in Spring Park where an ambulance was waiting.

Medics’ attempts to save the victim’s life were unsuccessful. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will identify the victim, who is a juvenile.

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office Water Patrol says the initial investigation reveals that the victim and another jet ski collided. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor.

No further details are available at this time.
