Brooklyn Boulevard (County Road 152) in Brooklyn Center

Brooklyn Boulevard reconstruction resumes Monday

Starting Monday, May 24, the City of Brooklyn Center, in coordination with Hennepin County, will begin the second phase of reconstruction of Brooklyn Boulevard (County Road 152).

Over the next two years, city crews will reconstruct Brooklyn Boulevard between Bass Lake Road (County Road 10) and I-94.

The project will enhance the functionality of Brooklyn Boulevard by improving access and safety for people who use this road to walk, bike, roll, drive or use transit. The first phase of reconstruction was completed in 2020.

Access and impacts during construction

Throughout construction, the city will maintain one lane in each direction for people driving on Brooklyn Boulevard. Expect occasional short-term closures and delays.

People who live and work within the project area can expect access to remain open for most of the construction unless notified by city crews.

Sidewalks on at least one side will remain open for people walking and rolling, but they may shift over time.
