Exciting news! I've partnered with CCX Media on Commissioner Minutes. These videos will highlight some of the work #HCdistrict1 is doing. This first #CommishMinutes provides a look at my first month in office plus highlights specific committee work in intergovernmental relations and public safety.

We've also done some in-person visits, such as a visit to the North Metro Range in Maple Grove, in partnership with Commissioner Anderson's office. We were hosted by Mayor Mark Steffenson, Chief of Police Eric Werner, and Facility Training Manager Al Freng. We saw firsthand the scenario-based training rooms housed in the Law Enforcement Training Facility, and heard about the importance of these resources is training local law enforcement agencies in de-escalation techniques.

Commissioner Lunde also went on a EMS ride-along with EMS Chief Marty Scheerer. There, he learned how Hennepin Healthcare's EMS team manages the medical 911 response calls for the entire west metro. In 2020, this corresponded to more than 325,000 phone and radio calls! EMS launched a Paramedic Trainee Program late last year to provide a supportive pathway for EMTs who complete a rigorous, seven-month training program to become a full time paramedic.
