Extension of 4-week pause (EO 20-99)

Efforts to slow-down the spread of COVID-19 to prevent illness and death has greatly impacted the hospitality industry.  With the Governor’s Executive Order (EO) 20-99 (4-week pause) and the newly announced extension 20-103 (beginning 11:59 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, and remaining in place until 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, 2021), the impact is even greater.

Your compliance has made a difference!  The number of COVID-19 cases is beginning to decline thanks to your efforts.  The Governor’s extension is expected to decrease the number even more.  Hennepin County wants to recognize your commitment to Public Health & Safety.  Thank you.

Hennepin County Public Health is also committed to protecting the health & safety of its communities.  We license, inspect and enforce public health regulations to ensure the well-being of all its citizens and visitors to our county.  The County’s COVID-19 response efforts include the enforcement of the Governor’s Executive Orders (EO).  Complaints of violations of the Governor’s EOs are managed by Hennepin County Public Health staff.  All complaints are investigated within 24 hours.

The Governor has recently signed a Bill to enact financial relief for those businesses that are negatively impacted.  More information about this Bill can be found on the Office of the Revisor of Statutes sites HF45 and SF31.

Again, thank you for your commitment to the health and well-being of your customers and the county’s communities!  If you have questions, please contact our office at 612-543-5200 or email us at epi-envhlth@hennepin.us.
