Reminder: Requirements for entering Hennepin County facilities during COVID-19

Good afternoon,

Hennepin County is following Governor Walz’s emergency executive orders and applicable public-health guidance to limit the spread of COVID-19. Here are some key things to know before entering a Hennepin County facility.

Face coverings are required at Hennepin County facilities

All visitors to Hennepin County buildings are required to wear face coverings. This includes consultants, contractors and vendors. Face coverings must cover both mouth and nose, per the Governor’s Emergency Executive Order 20-81.

Face coverings can include a paper or disposable face mask, a cloth face mask, a scarf, a bandanna, a neck gaiter, or a religious face covering. Visitors who do not have their own face covering will be provided one upon entry into a county facility. If visitors are unable to wear a face covering, reasonable accommodations can be made upon request.

In addition to wearing a face covering, all visitors to County facilities must stay at least 6 feet apart from others. Do not enter county facilities if you are sick. Use the Minnesota Department of Health screening questionnaire. If you are exposed to COVID-19 or get sick with COVID-19, follow public health guidance on quarantine and isolation. Follow your organization’s preparedness plan

Under Emergency Executive Order 20-74, each Minnesota business is required to have its own preparedness plan to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Please follow your organization’s plan.

Thank you in advance for adhering to these requirements. Resident and employee safety remain our primary focus to ensure that services are restored in a planful, safe manner that mitigates the potential transmission of COVID-19 within county facilities.
