zero waste update

Welcome to the Zero Waste Challenge!

Welcome to the Zero Waste Challenge and to the first edition of the Zero Waste Update!

Getting started on your zero waste actions

Now that you completed two weeks of waste tracking and attended an intro training, it’s time to start adjusting your habits! If they haven't already, your staff liaison will check in with you soon to review the waste reduction and diversion strategies you identified at the intro training. Start working on these now.

About the Zero Waste Update

You'll receive a Zero Waste Update every two weeks. The newsletter will include dates of upcoming workshops and events, program updates and reminders, and articles focusing on different zero waste topics. If anyone else in your household would like to receive the Zero Waste Update, they can sign up here.

Upcoming workshops

Households are required to attend four of six monthly workshops. These virtual workshops are led by Hennepin County staff and will consist of a presentation, activity, and discussion time. They are an opportunity to get your questions answered and have discussions with other households.

The full schedule of workshops can be found on the participant webpage. This month’s topic is recycling and organics. If you didn’t get all of your questions answered at the intro training or have come up with new questions since, join us at one of the workshops:

  • Tuesday, November 17 from 6 to 7 p.m.
  • Friday, November 20 from noon to 1 p.m.

To join, click the Microsoft Teams link during the workshop times.

Download the Microsoft Teams app for the best experience, otherwise you can join on the web or by phone at 612-263-6117, conference ID: 384 567 487#.
