Hennepin County Library continues to adapt its services in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, with an emphasis on the safety of our staff and patrons. Changes can occur on short notice, so be sure to check our Current service information page for the most up to date information on using the library.
You can access library services in-person and online.
Explore our online eBook collection for readers of all ages, featuring content from independent Minnesota publishers and including some of Minnesota's best literature and nonfiction. Titles found here are always available for check out.
Groups of staff who focus on particular areas of interest have profiles in the catalog just like you. When you look at our online lists you can see what profile created them. We use the HCL_featured profile to create short-term and high-interest lists such as “Streaming Hallmark watch-alikes,” “Latino/x/e point of view,” and “Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month and Family Caregivers Month.”
Staff have added thousands of streaming videos to our catalog that you can search for by artist, subject and more. Search for “streaming video” with other key words, or just use “streaming video” to see them all and use the filters on the left to narrow things down to your interests. Popular picks include feature films, the Great Courses lectures, exercise videos, and children's titles.
We've moved our library programs online. Attend storytimes, book clubs, and author events. Discover even more programs focused on homework help, job searching, financial literacy and more.
