Absentee voting in the presidential nomination primary

If the candidate I voted for has dropped out, can I change my vote?

If the voter’s absentee ballot has already been accepted, there is no way to vote again. At this point, that includes everyone who has already voted absentee in person.

For voters who mailed their ballot in recently, if we have not already received the ballot they can call Hennepin County (or Minneapolis for Minneapolis voters) and ask us to spoil their mail-in ballot. Then they will need to vote in person today at their absentee voting location or tomorrow at their election day polling place. Voters can check their absentee ballot status at http://www.mnvotes.org. If their ballot is listed as “accepted” it has been counted and the voter cannot change their vote.

Voters can contact our office with questions on the status of their absentee ballot. Minneapolis residents can contact the City of Minneapolis.

Absentee voting ends at 5 p.m. today. Absentee locations can be found here https://www.sos.state.mn.us/elections-voting/other-ways-to-vote/cities-and-towns-with-in-person-absentee-voting/

Any Hennepin County resident can vote at the Government Center until 5 p.m.

Other questions about the nomination process, including how delegates are allocated, can be directed to your party at https://www.sos.state.mn.us/elections-voting/how-elections-work/political-parties/

Polls are open tomorrow 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Find your polling location at https://pollfinder.sos.state.mn.us/
