Redesigning how residents access Emergency Assistance (EA), Emergency General Assistance (EGA), and Family Homelessness Prevention and Assistance (FHPAP)

lisa t

There are government programs and nonprofits that can help with emergency payments to prevent evictions. But each has its own set of rules. Some can't be applied for until you've been turned down for other ones. As a system, they're not easy to use. A diverse group of stakeholders is trying to fix that.

Read the latest update regarding this redesign process here: Many perspectives are helping smooth the road to preventing evictions.

Help set priorities for federal housing funds in suburban Hennepin County

Each year, Hennepin County receives around $6 million from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to fund affordable housing and community development activities in suburban cities.

To guide the use of these funds, Hennepin County works with cities, residents, and other partners to set goals and priorities for affordable housing and community development as part of a five-year action plan.

We are now in the process of developing the next five-year plan for the years 2020-2024, and need your input.

Hennepin County Unsheltered Point in Time Count Report for July released

The Unsheltered Report highlights the point in time (PIT) data collected semiannually by outreach teams. These counts are a one-night snapshot of the population known to be experiencing homelessness unsheltered. The counts help to gauge trends by enabling a rough comparison of the unsheltered population over time. View the report: Hennepin County July 2019 Unsheltered Report.
