Excelsior Boulevard (County Road 3) in Minnetonka
You are receiving this message because you have been identified as an individual or organization that needs to be aware of major road disruptions and closures occurring in Minnetonka.
Situation
Starting next Wednesday, August 21, Excelsior Boulevard (County Road 3) will close at two locations near Nantucket Road in Minnetonka.
The closure is needed to replace two culverts — one located just west of Minnetonka Fire Station 4 and the other just east of Nantucket Road.
Closure timing
Weather permitting, the culvert replacement work is expected to take 10 days to complete.
Detours and access
During the closure, people walking, biking and rolling will need to use alternative routes.
The detour for people driving will follow:
- Eden Prairie Road (County Road 4)
- Townline Road (County Road 62)
- County Road 101
Detour route during Excelsior Boulevard closure
Due to the nature of the work, the geography of the area, and the levels of traffic local streets are designed for, all through traffic on Excelsior Boulevard will need to use the official detour to get around the closure.
Using the detour will help keep our crews safe and traffic out of neighborhoods where people live, work and play.
Local access during the closure
Excelsior Boulevard will be closed at one culvert location at a time to maintain access for local residents and visitors from one direction.
This means you will still be able to get to your home, place of work or favorite business, but how you gain access to these places will change as work happens on each culvert.
