Situation
Starting at 7 a.m. Saturday, August 3, participants in the Tour de Tonka event will be riding their bikes on several county roads.
Access and timing
During the event, up to one lane of traffic may be used for tour participants. People driving should expect intermittent delays along county road segments where people are actively riding. Traffic control and public safety crews will be on site to help keep everyone safe.
Sidewalks and nearby trails will remain open for people biking, walking and rolling.
The event will end at various times throughout the day depending on the route.
Impacted county roads
County road segments that will be used for the event are:
- Commerce Boulevard (County Road 110) between Church Road and Lynwood Boulevard in Mound
- County Road 15/Lynwood Boulevard between County Road 92 in Minnetrista and Commerce Boulevard in Mound
- County Road 92 between Watertown Road in Independence and County Road 15 in Minnetrista
- County Road 101 between Minnetonka Boulevard and Hanus Road in Minnetonka
- Excelsior Boulevard (County Road 3) between County Road 101 and Woodland Road in Minnetonka
- McGinty Road (County Road 16) between Bushaway Road (County Road 101) in Wayzata and Minnetonka Boulevard in Minnetonka
- Mill Street (County Road 82) between 3rd Street in Excelsior and the county line in Shorewood
- Minnetonka Boulevard (County Road 5) between County Road 101 and McGinty Road in Minnetonka
- Pioneer Trail (County Road 1) between the county line and Dell Road in Eden Prairie
- Plymouth Road (County Road 61) between McGinty Road East and Minnetonka Boulevard in Minnetonka
- Shadywood Road/Manitou Road (County Road 19) between the Dakota Rail Regional Trail in Orono and Birch Bluff Road in Tonka Bay
- Townline Road/62nd Street (County Road 62) between Woodland Road and Bury Drive in Minnetonka
- Watertown Road/6th Avenue (County Road 6) between the county line in Independence and Ferndale Road in Orono
