Maintenance projects on Shoreline Drive start tomorrow

Over the next couple of weeks, there will be two maintenance projects on Shoreline Drive (County Road 15) in Orono and Spring Park. There will also be work on the connecting segment of Interlachen Road (County Road 125).

Overnight work on Arcola Bridge begins tomorrow

Starting at 7 p.m. tomorrow, July 10, crews are scheduled to do routine maintenance work at the Arcola Bridge on Shoreline Drive for up to five consecutive weeknights.

The work will consist of inspecting, cleaning and sealing of the bridge deck. Bridge deck sealing is done every five years to protect the concrete bridge surface.

Expect overnight delays

Weather permitting, the overnight activities will occur from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. During this work, we will maintain a lane for each direction of traffic. However, expect times where traffic will be down to a single lane. Flaggers will be on site to guide you around the work.

Repaving on Shoreline Drive and Interlachen Road begins Monday

Starting Monday, July 15, crews will repave Shoreline Drive between Black Lake Road and Kelly Avenue, as well as Interlachen Road between Black Lake Bridge/Spring Park Channel and Shoreline Drive.

This work will be done in stages. First, we ground away, or mill, the existing pavement. Then, we pave, or overlay, a new layer of pavement. Finally, we add new striping and pavement markings.

Due to the nature of this work and the weather, the exact start and finish dates may vary. Weather permitting, this repaving work is expected to be completed in roughly five days. Permanent striping work will follow ten days after paving is completed.

Expect delays and temporary driveway impacts

This work will be done during the daytime and majority of the work will be completed under traffic. We will maintain a lane for both directions of traffic and access to driveway entrances as much as possible.

During this time, expect delays, traffic configuration changes and intermittent driveway entrance closures lasting up to ten minutes when crews are milling and paving.

Flaggers will also be on site to help people driving to get in and out of driveways and business entrances during the work.

Staying safe

For your safety and the safety of our crews, we ask that you obey all posted speed limits and slow down where crews are working.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we continue project work in this area.
