Ongoing activities
Trail construction progressing; paving expected tomorrow
In late May, construction of the new trail began along the northern half of Wayzata Boulevard between Wolf Pointe Trail and Luce Line Trail overpass. From the Luce Line Trail overpass, the trail connects to Willow Drive.
First, crews graded the new trail, which is made up of base layers of gravel. These layers are critical structural elements to provide a stable foundation needed for the pavement.
With grading completed, crews poured concrete pedestrian ramps at various intersections last week to prepare for trail paving. Paving will follow starting tomorrow, June 11. Weather permitting, we anticipate the work to take two days to complete.
Once completed, we will open up the trail for residents to enjoy.

Construction activities at east end continue
Also in late May, crews began work on the center lane of Wayzata Boulevard between Orono Montessori school and Wayzata Boulevard West.
Since then, underground utility lines were placed and grading work began for the new roadway and concrete median. This work is expected to be complete by the end of this week. Once complete, crews will begin grading work along the shoulder of westbound lanes in the same area.
This future work should not have any access impacts to nearby business driveways or side streets.
Staying safe
As you travel through the construction area, please allow for extra time to travel through the area, as delays can occur. For your safety and the safety of our crews, we ask that you slow down and follow the instructions of our crews and signage.
