Welcome to the Earth Action Challenge!
Each day for the next eight days, we’ll focus on a different action that you can take to protect the environment and connect you with resources to help you take that action.
You’ll receive an email each morning with more information about the day’s action and links to helpful resources.

- Tuesday, April 16: Green your spring cleaning
- Wednesday, April 17: Get around in a sustainable way
- Thursday, April 18: Ditch the disposables
- Friday, April 19: Capture rain water
- Saturday, April 20: Clean up in your community
- Sunday, April 21: Get outside
- Monday, April 22: Make every day Earth Day
Track your progress
We’ve created a worksheet (DOCX) to help you track your progress during the Earth Action Challenge.
Each day of the challenge, set a personal goal for the day. For example, on day 3 maybe you’ll take the bus to work or bike to the store. On day 4, maybe you’ll pack your own lunch in reusable containers to avoid getting takeout.
At the end of the day, take a moment to reflect on how it went. What successes did you have? What challenges did you face? What did you learn?
If this is an action you want to continue to work on, set a longer term goal. For example, maybe you’ll try to take transit or bike to work two days a week, or pack your own low-waste lunch four days a week.
It’s not too late to join!
Share the challenge with others and encourage them to sign up. We’ve got resources to help you spread the word.
Tomorrow for the first day of the challenge, we’re focusing on recycling the right stuff. We’ll brush up on the basics of what can go in your recycling cart as well as review the most important items to keep out of your cart.
