"Every February 13th, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it, breakfast-style. Ladies celebrating ladies. It's like Lilith Fair, minus the angst. Plus frittatas." -- Leslie Knope, "Parks and Recreation"

Give a nod to Galentine's Day and enjoy these books and movies that celebrate women and their friendships. Even better when shared with friends - over breakfast, or otherwise!

Online resource

NoveList Plus

Use this online resource to find fiction and nonfiction titles you'll love using appeal factors such as pace, tone and writing style; themes such as small-town life, court intrigue or alien invasions; and any other terms that describe what you want. Search results often include author read-alikes, discussion guides, series information, and reviews.

You'll also see NoveList content directly in the library catalog. On an items' title page, use “Explore Further” in the right column to find related authors, series details, and more recommendations. Clicking on the “More from NoveList” link will pop up author, title and series read-alikes, story elements you can use to find similar titles, and more.

Tips and tricks

For Later shelf

It's easy to keep track of titles you want to read someday, but aren't ready to put on hold or check out right now, thanks to the For Later shelf in your library account. You can add titles directly to this shelf from catalog search results or your other shelves, and may add as many items as you’d like. Sort the shelf by date added, title, or author and filter by format and audience, to find just the right book when you want it.

You can get to the shelf from your account under My Collections. When you are on My Library Dashboard, the For Later Shelf will display titles that are available now.

All shelves are public by default but can be made private. You can choose to do this for the entire contents of the shelf (log in and go to My Settings) or individual items on the shelf (use the “Manage Item” drop down menu for the item on your shelf).
