Volunteer sought for vacancy on Nine Mile Creek Watershed District Board

The Hennepin County Board of Commissioners seeks applicants for a vacancy on the Nine Mile Creek Watershed District Board.

The term of office for Maressia Twele is expiring. Twele has not yet decided if she will seek reappointment.

About the board 

This board coordinates the management of water and related land resources in the watershed. The cities of Hopkins, Bloomington, Edina, Richfield, Eden Prairie and Minnetonka have land within the district.

Meetings are held the third Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the District Office in Eden Prairie. 

About the openings

Due to the nature of the board, it is helpful for members to have a background in water conservation, development, law, engineering, environment or public administration. Board members may not be a public officer of the county, state or federal government and must be a resident of the district. 

Members serve three-year terms.  

Application timeline

  • The application deadline is September 27.
  • Interviews will be held at the following board committee meeting on October 2.
