County Road 112 in Long Lake and Orono
Full closure of Wayzata Boulevard extended
Road anticipated to open on Wednesday evening
Crews are working hard to reopen Wayzata Boulevard as soon as possible, but due to complexities of replacing underground utilities, we need to extend the full closure to complete the work. We currently expect to reopen Wayzata Boulevard to through traffic by Wednesday evening, August 15.
Below is the map showing the two remaining locations of the work and the anticipated closures in these areas on these dates. Signage will be provided to help guide local residents, visitors and business patrons accessing the area.
 Local closure updates
Location 2: Closure at Heather Lane from Tuesday afternoon, August 7 through Saturday afternoon, August 11
Location 3: Closure at Greenhill and Russell lanes from Monday morning, August 13 through Tuesday evening, August 14.
Paving to follow
Crews will return on Wednesday, August 15, to pave all the crossings before reopening the road to all traffic by that evening. During paving, traffic will be down to a single lane. Flaggers will be onsite to guide local traffic during the work.
Detours and local traffic
For
through traffic, Wayzata Boulevard will be closed between Wolf Pointe Trail and
Wayzata Boulevard West. During the closure, through traffic will be detoured
using Highway 12.
To
access downtown Long Lake or to bypass the closure, County Road 101 and 6th
Avenue (County Road 6) are available.
Due
to the nature of the work, the geography of the area and the levels of traffic
local streets are designed for, through traffic on Wayzata Boulevard must use
the detour or alternate routing and not use local neighborhood streets. This
will keep the neighborhood traffic safer for the individuals and families who
live, work and play in the area. And, It will also keep you from experiencing
delays and getting frustrated.
Getting to your polling place
Please
keep the detour and alternate routing information in mind for getting to local
polling places on Tuesday, August 14. Wayzata Boulevard will remain closed to
through traffic between Wolf Pointe Trail and Wayzata Boulevard West.
Please plan ahead and
give yourself extra time to get to your destination. To find out where the
polling places are located as well as other election information, you can go to our elections website.
