County Road 112 in Long Lake and Orono
Traffic to switch tomorrow
Changes between Wolf Pointe Trail and Old Long Lake Road
Starting Thursday morning, July 12, both directions of traffic will shift to the northern half of Wayzata Boulevard between Wolf Pointe Trail and Old Long Lake Road. The traffic shift will allow crews to begin reconstructing the southern half.
Please allow for extra time to travel through the area during the traffic switch.
Crews are temporarily widening the shoulder to accommodate both directions of traffic during reconstruction on the southern half of Wayzata Boulevard. This temporary configuration will remain in place for approximately up to two months. Crews will return this fall to construct permanent roadway features to include the new trail.

Crews working between Cemetery Road and Old Long Lake Road
In preparation for the traffic switch
this week, crews are paving between Cemetery Road and Old Long Lake Road.
There are minor access impacts to driveways along the northern half of Wayzata Boulevard, but residents will still be able to get in and out of their driveways during the work. And, people still have access to Birches on the Lake during our work.
Crews pave the temporarily widened shoulder on Wayzata Boulevard between Cemetery Road and Old Long Lake Road.
Construction begins along southern half of Wayzata Boulevard
When traffic shifts to the northern half, crews will begin reconstructing the southern half between Wolf Pointe Trail and Old Long Lake Road.
For the next two weeks, crews will focus on removing pavement and replacing underground utility lines.

First layers of new road paved along the shoreline
Last week, crews paved the first two layers of asphalt along the shoreline area between Mill Street and Wolf Pointe Trail.
Crews use asphalt rollers to compact and smooth the first of two layers, or "lifts," of pavement.
For the next few weeks, crews will focus their attention on:
- Grading and paving the trail
- Preparing bases and conduits for new street lights
Staying safe
It is important to follow posted speed limits and construction signs to help you navigate through work zone, including evenings and weekends. Please allow yourself some extra time to reach destinations in the area.
