Excelsior Boulevard (County Road 3) in St. Louis Park
Work to begin June 18
Starting Monday, June 18, crews will repave Excelsior Boulevard (County Road 3) between Monterey Avenue/West 38th Street and France Avenue (County Road 17).
This work will be done in stages. First, the existing road will be grinded away (milled). Then, new road will be paved (overlaid). To complete the work, new striping and pavement markings will be added.
Due to the nature of this work and the weather, the exact start and finish dates may vary. Weather permitting, repaving work is expected to be completed in roughly two weeks.
Repaving to impact traffic – expect delays
This work will be completed under traffic. This means people can continue to use the road. However, travel lanes will be reduced to a single lane in each direction along Excelsior Boulevard. Expect delays and day-to-day traffic configuration changes when traveling through the area.
Staying safe
For your safety and the safety of our crews, we ask that you obey all posted speed limits and slow down where crews are working.
Pedestrians should use caution when crossing Excelsior Boulevard. The bituminous (material paved on the road), will be extremely hot. There is no pedestrian detour planned for this work.
