Current construction activities

Willow Drive to creek crossing

Storm sewer and grading work continues

This week, weather permitting, crews are expected to complete storm sewer work between Willow Drive and Brown Road (County Road 146).

Crews will install storm sewer pipes, then replace and regrade the soil.

Weather permitting, grading is expected to complete by the middle of next week

Intermittent side street entrance closures during utility and grading work

For the next few weeks, there will be short-term side street entrance closures at Shaughnessy, Brimhall and Tamarack avenues along Wayzata Boulevard (County Road 112).

These closures will take up to two days each so crews can replace utility lines and rebuild the roadway in front of the entrances.

During these short-term closures, detour signage will be provided along WIllow Drive and Daniels Street.

Creek crossing to Mill Street

Traffic shifts Friday

Starting at 9 a.m. on Friday, September 29, both directions of Wayzata Boulevard traffic will shift to the southern half.

It will take longer to travel through the area during the traffic change. For your safety and the safety of our crews, obey all posted speed limits, and watch for construction signs and crews.

Construction along the northern half begins

Once the traffic shift is completed, crews will begin reconstructing the northern half. Reconstruction is expected to last through the fall.

Please be aware that crews will be using large construction equipment, which will create noise and slight vibrations.

Project to monitor vibrations

The project will be monitoring the vibrations caused by removals downtown along the northern half in order to minimize impacts to surrounding buildings during construction.

Pedestrian access to businesses downtown

Crews will work to maintain access for pedestrians, including to get to local businesses, during the construction process.

There will be times where intermittent sidewalk closures and delays will occur for underground utility work.

Mill Street to Wolf Pointe Trail

Center lane work begins Friday

On Friday, September 29, reconstruction on the center lane of Wayzata Boulevard between the Southwood Shores townhomes and Wolf Pointe Trail will begin. Crews will be removing pavement, replacing underground utility lines and grading the roadway.

During construction of the center lane, eastbound traffic will be moved to the temporary lanes, and westbound traffic will remain on the current road.

Weather permitting, this work is anticipated to last a week.

Once completed, all traffic will be moved to the temporary lanes.

Wolf Pointe Woods access impacts

While crews are reconstructing the center lane, residents entering and exiting in the subdivision will be limited to a right turn-in and right turn-out only for up to five days.

Southwood Shores townhomes access impacts

The east entrance to the townhomes remains closed in order for crews to level out the driveway entrance. This closure is expected to last until the center lane work is completed.

The west entrance remains open.
