Limited supplies of glasses for safer viewing are available to participants in library programs
Hennepin County Library is turning the Monday, August 21, partial solar eclipse into an out-of this-world event, with viewing parties at 11 libraries, and STEM programming for kids and teens.
Thanks to a grant from StarNET, those libraries will have eclipse glasses for participants to use at their events. Note: Eclipse viewing glasses are available only to participants in library programs on the day of the eclipse. Because supplies are limited, families may be asked to share.
The eclipse is expected to begin at 11:43 a.m., to peak at 1:06 p.m., and end by 2:28 p.m.
Eclipse programs are an example of how Hennepin County Library engages the community to learn and explore the world around us.
