Go Outside with Hennepin County continues to feature free events and activities throughout the summer. See below for August event listings.
Most Epic Family Day
Join in a day filled with free, family-friendly activities at Target Field Station! This year’s theme is "a lake-like day in the city."
- Sunday, August 13, Noon - 4 p.m.
- Location: 335 North Fifth Street, Minneapolis, outside Target Field’s Gate 6

Activities and programming throughout the afternoon will include:
- Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge: bubble making and storm drain outreach materials to relay the message of keeping our water clean
- Glitter hair
- Water slide
- Hennepin County Library: story time and library cards
- Food for purchase: ice cream, hot dogs, beverages and popcorn
Movies at Target Field Station
Location: 335 North Fifth Street, Minneapolis, outside Target Field’s Gate 6 Map
- Thursday, August 10: "Finding Dory," 7 p.m.
- Thursday, August 24: "Free Willy," 7 p.m.
Events at Government Center
Location: 300 South Sixth Street, Minneapolis Map
- Wednesday, August 9: free outdoor yoga, 11:45 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. and 12:30 - 1 p.m.
- Tuesdays: piano performances, noon - 1 p.m.
- Wednesdays: food trucks, yard games and more, 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
- Thursdays: Minneapolis Downtown Farmers Market, 6 a.m. - 6 p.m.
