Today, May 18, Hennepin County will celebrate the opening of its newest library.
After more than a year of construction, the new Webber Park Library will open about a quarter mile west of the park that shares its name.

TODAY, May 18, 5 p.m. Hennepin County Library-Webber Park 4440 Humboldt Avenue North, Minneapolis
The media and the public are invited to the celebration, which will include comments from local officials, starting at 5:15 p.m., and a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The library will remain open until 8 p.m.
On Saturday, May 20, the library will host a community celebration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and will remain open until 5 p.m. that day.
Festivities continue
On Saturday, May 20, the library will host a community celebration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Events will include performances by the Hopewell Music Cooperative North, a community-based organization that provides quality music lessons for kids, a visit with a naturalist and a community bike ride. In addition, kids and adults can explore the new library, check out the early literacy and school-age play and learn spaces, try STEM activities and take a walk on the Story Stroll outside.
