Overnight preparations for traffic shift

Last week, crews completed setting up traffic control and removing median strips from Willow Drive to Brown Road (County Road 146) for the upcoming reconstruction of Wayzata Boulevard.

Starting tonight, crews are continuing their efforts by removing fog lines and striping new temporary lines.

The new striping is in preparation to move both directions of traffic to the southern half of Wayzata Boulevard when reconstruction work begins on the northern half of road from Willow Drive to Brown Road.

The removal and striping is expected to be completed by Tuesday morning, weather permitting.

Once complete, traffic will be guided to the new traffic lanes.

Signal system switch at Willow Drive

Crews will be transitioning the traffic signals at the Willow Drive intersection to a temporary system on Tuesday between 5 and 9 a.m.

While the system is being changed, all signals will be flashing red lights, effectively turning the intersection into a four-way stop.

Getting around the area and staying safe

You can still travel around this area, including to get to local businesses.

It is important to follow the speed limits and signs, and stay alert in this area, including during evenings and weekends. Traffic changes, construction crews, equipment and work areas near the roadway will require extra attention from road users.
