Organizations will use more than $35,000 of grant funding to
provide swimming lessons to Hennepin County youth.
The grants were made possible through a partnership between
Hennepin County, USA Swimming and Minnesota Swimming.
The following organizations will receive funding:
- Brooklyn Center Community Center
- City of Brooklyn Park Recreation and Parks
- Great Wolf Swim Club
- Robbinsdale Area Schools Community Education
- YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities, Minneapolis Downtown

Sports pilot project contributed funding for grants
The Hennepin County Youth Sports Program provided financial
support for this round of grant funding. Since the
Youth Sports program began in 2009, the county has awarded $19.6 million to 122
facility projects, 221 small equipment projects and five playground projects.

a Splash saves lives
Make
a Splash is a national, child-focused water safety campaign, aiming to provide
the opportunity for every child in America to learn to swim. To date, more than
4 million children have received the lifesaving gift of swim lessons through
the USA Swimming Foundation Make a Splash Local Partner network comprised of
more than 800 qualified lesson providers across the nation.
