Hennepin prosecutors defer charges in Champlin HS case

The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office Friday deferred charges against a 42-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of having sex with an adult student inside Champlin Park High School.

The county attorney’s office received an extension to 4 p.m. Friday for making a decision on whether to charge the man with a felony. However, because of the complexity of the case, prosecutors deferred the charges in order to allow time for further investigation.

As a result, the suspect was due to be released from jail Friday afternoon.
