Mail-in absentee ballots

Mail absentee ballots must be received by Election Day to be counted. Voters may drop off their absentee ballot until 3 p.m. on Election Day to the address on the provided return envelope. For Minneapolis voters, that is the Elections Office in Minneapolis City Hall. For all other Hennepin County voters, it is the Elections Office in the Hennepin County Government Center—300 S. 6th Street, Minneapolis.

Voters cannot return an absentee ballot to their Election Day polling place, but they can go to their polling place to vote on Election Day if they have not already returned an absentee ballot.

Additional information

Monday, November 7, is the final day for in-person absentee balloting. Eligible voters may register to vote at their polling place on Election Day, November 8.

Voters can look up their polling place, sample ballot, voter registration status, and absentee ballot status at mnvotes.org.
