Contact: Police Chief Jeff Beahen, City of Rogers, 763-228-4930
Rogers Police Chief Jeff Beahen has asked motorists not to attempt to to drive on roads through south side of the city. Last night's severe weather knocked down a high voltage power line, effectively creating an east-west barrier that cuts Rogers, Hanover, St. Michael and surrounding cities off from metro cities to the south.
Interstate 94 remains open, and is the best option to reach northwest metro cities.
Hennepin County Public works reports that the following county roads are closed.
- County Road 101 between County Road 30 and County Road 159
(Territorial Road)
- County Road 116 between County Road 117 (109th Ave.
N.) and County Road 159 (Territorial Road)
- County Road 203 (Crow Hassan Park Road) between County Road 19
(109th Ave. N.) and Park Drive
Multiple local streets are closed, as well. Travelers and residents are urged to stay away or stay home.
Repairs could take several days, Beahen said; crews will need to come from the Dakotas to lift the structures off the roadway.
For information about county road closures, call road and bridge dispatch at 612-596-0299.
