County Road 101 (Bushaway Road) in Minnetonka, Wayzata and Woodland update

Updated project timeline

Now that the railroad design issue is complete, crews are working on the final retaining wall (N2). They expect to complete N2 and the temporary tracks - called a shoofly - by mid-October. Once the shoofly is in place, work will begin on the south abutment for the new Bushaway Road bridge. Weather permitting, this work should continue into December.

Before the new bridge can open, the contractor needs to complete asphalt paving of the road connecting to the bridge. The earliest asphalt plants will re-open with the high-quality asphalt needed is around mid-May. Once asphalt is available, the contractor will then be able to complete the road to the bridge and it will open, most likely in June.

By the end of this construction season – and weather cooperating - Hennepin County’s goal is to open County Road 101 with a hard surface roadway between Minnetonka Boulevard and Eastman Lane. We anticipate a full opening in June 2016.
