Climate Action Framework is announced with bipartisan support, input from thousands of business, conservation, and labor leaders
Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor Flanagan launched a comprehensive plan to protect Minnesota’s environment and combat climate change. Created with the input of thousands of business, conservation, and climate leaders, the Climate Action Framework identifies strategies to help Minnesotans avoid the worst impacts of climate change.
Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor Flanagan received their updated bivalent boosters at the State Capitol.
Appointments are now available for people in Minnesota to receive an updated bivalent booster – which is formulated to be more effective against the Omicron variants – at state-run vaccination sites.
Governor Walz celebrated a $25 million federal investment in improvements for I-90 in Austin, Minnesota.
“When we invest in Minnesota’s roads and bridges, we invest in Minnesota’s economy, safety, and livability,” said Governor Walz. “I am grateful for this federal partnership and their decision to award funding to a critical piece of infrastructure in southern Minnesota. This investment marks another step forward to ensure our transportation system is safe, accessible, and reliable for all Minnesotans across our state.”
Following the announcement that Minnesota’s exports soared to a record-breaking $6.7 billion in the second quarter of 2022, Governor Walz met with members of Taiwan’s agriculture industry to continue to grow Minnesota's global partnerships to strengthen our state's economy.
On Tuesday, Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor Flanagan met with Minnesota nurses.
"Nurses are heroes. We stand with Minnesota nurses in solidarity to say thank you for their work to protect Minnesotans and save lives," said Governor Walz.
"Nurses have stepped up care for Minnesotans throughout this pandemic. We call them heroes — now we need to treat them like heroes. We must take care of them so that they can continue to take care of us," said Lieutenant Governor Flanagan.
On Patriot Day, Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor Flanagan highlighted service bonuses for veterans who served in combat to protect our democracy following the horrific attacks on 9/11.

Governor Walz, Lieutenant Governor Flanagan, and the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota invited young women and gender-expansive youth from across the state to apply for open positions with the Young Women’s Cabinet. Applications are available through the Office of the Governor and Lieutenant Governor’s website and will be accepted through Tuesday, October 4.
“It’s my honor to continue to elevate the leadership of young women across Minnesota,” said Governor Walz. “Every young person in Minnesota deserves a bright future. Through this partnership, we center the leadership and solutions of young women in order to improve opportunities for young people, their families, and their communities.”
