Jan. 29 - Feb. 1, Duluth John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon Established in 1980, the John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon is the longest sled dog race in the lower 48 states, running from Duluth to the Canadian border and back to Duluth. Every year, world-class mushers compete in the nearly 400 mile event. The Beargrease is a qualifier for the famed Iditarod race in Alaska.
