EQB Announcements

Citizen Board Member Opening - 4th Congressional District 

Applications are now open for an EQB Citizen Board Member in the 4th Congressional District. The 4th Congressional District includes St. Paul and surrounding suburbs such as Woodbury, Maplewood, Roseville, New Brighton, White Bear Lake, and Stillwater.

Citizen Environmental Review Survey

The Environmental Quality Board, which oversees the state’s Environmental Review program, is undergoing a continuous improvement project to monitor and improve the effectiveness of Environmental Review. Minnesota citizens who have participated in the Environmental Review process during this calendar year are asked to consider taking 10 minutes to complete the survey at the link below. Engagement in the process may include: reviewed a document, attended a public meeting, wrote a comment, contacted staff, etc.

EQB Board Meeting – September 18, 2019

We invite you to join the Environmental Quality Board (EQB) at their next Board meeting on September 18 from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm at the MPCA in St. Paul! The September 18, 2019 EQB meeting will address four decision items and one informational item:

  1. Decision: Environmental Quality Board's FY 2020-21 Work Plan
  2. Decision: Rulemaking to adopt amendments of environmental review rules
  3. Decision: Authorize State Environmental Review Program Subcommittee
  4. Decision: Responsible Government Unit re-designation for the Fillmore Solar Project
  5. Update on the Environmental Quality Board's 2020 State Water Plan

Environmental Assessment Worksheets

Project Title: Anton Village Residential Development

Comment Deadline: October 16, 2019

Project Description: The Anton Village subdivision is proposed on an approximately 159 acre parcel of existing agricultural land in St. Michael, Wright County, Minnesota. The project includes 328 proposed detached single family homes with approximately 0.2 to 0.3 acre lots arranged around stormwater ponds and existing wetlands and ditches. The project will also include new roads, trails, a recreational park, stormwater ponds, and the installation of municipal sewer and water systems.

The EAW for Anton Village is attached and public comments will be accepted by the City of St. Michael until 4:30 pm on October 16, 2019. The EAW also be available for review at the St. Michael City Hall during regular business and on the City of St. Michael's website.

Project Title: CSAH 39 Improvement Project

Comment Deadline: October 16, 2019

Project Description: Wright County is proposing improvements to County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 39 from Odean Avenue to CSAH 42 in the City of Otsego. The proposed project will expand the existing two-lane undivided roadway to a four-lane divided roadway with a trail and roundabouts at the Odean Avenue, Page Avenue and CSAH 42 intersections.

Alternative Urban Areawide Review Final Order and Scoping for Large Projects

Project Title: Project 100 Final Order

Project Description: Project 100 is a mixed-use development located in northern Maple Grove at the southeast corner of I-94 and Hwy 610 consisting of commercial, office, institutional medical, medical office, plus multi-family and senior living residential. The project will be multi-phased with the first phase including institutional medical, office and senior living.
