A Note from Rick
I am incredibly grateful to be joining this team!
From my interview with some of the team to the glowing feedback I’ve heard from my connections across the metro, it’s clear that I’m stepping into something truly special.
A little bit about me ... I was born and raised in Springfield, Ill. and graduated from Illinois State University. During my senior year, I accepted an internship with Maple Grove Parks and Recreation, which brought me to the Twin Cities area. Minnesota felt like home almost immediately. Staying here was an easy decision, and my family was thrilled (we’re one of the few Vikings households back in central Illinois). While I’ll always cheer for my Cubs and Bulls, my football team plays away games when in Illinois.
I currently live in Northeast Minneapolis, but am set to move to Minnetonka in July. Outside of work, I enjoy staying active by playing basketball and golf, as well as taking long walks to explore Minneapolis. I also love sharing meals with friends and catching a game in person or on TV.
I can’t wait to get started and meet you all!

Senior Center Closed July 4
The Senior Center and other City facilities are closed Friday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day.
Art in the Garden
The fun continues at the Senior Center garden! Our Garden Box of Whimsy has a brand-new surprise item waiting for you this month—have you seen it yet?
As part of our upcoming fall art installation, we’re adding a new object to the garden cube each month. Be sure to take a walk through the back garden and see what’s been added. Keep track of each item you spot—remember, you’ll need the full list to enter our prize drawing!
Submit your complete list of garden box items by Sept. 12 to sbohnsack@edenprairie.org or drop it off at the Senior Center front desk.
Happy hunting—and stay curious!
