Last Thursday EPPD Officer Chad Streiff received a Gold Medallion award from Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD).
The Gold Medallion Award is given to officers who made more than 100 DWI arrests the previous year. Officer Streiff made 129 DWI arrests in 2024 with approximately 30% being drug impairment.
In addition, Officer Streiff received MADD’s Outstanding Service Award, given annually to a law enforcement officers who have made a difference by going above and beyond in DWI enforcement. In his nomination for the Outstanding Service Award, EPPD Sgt. Tom Lowery stated, “Officer Streiff epitomizes the utmost in passion and drive for DWI enforcement and realizes the importance of training the next group of dedicated enforcers. In addition to training officers, he provides instruction to youth, their parents and high schoolers on the dangers of impaired driving.”
Officer Streiff serves as a full-time DWI officer thanks to a grant from the Minnesota Department of Public Safety.
