MDVA Helps Celebrate Opening of a New Medical Resource for Women Veterans

The new Minneapolis VA Medical Center Women’s Clinic officially opened its doors on Aug. 3 – creating a medical space to meet the unique needs of the approximately 10,000 women Veterans in the greater Twin Cities region.

The 13,000 square foot Women’s Clinic is a comprehensive health center bringing together primary care, gynecology, mental health, physical therapy, pharmacy, social work, dietician and navigation services in a dedicated space, improving coordination and convenience of care.

For many Veterans, leaving military service doesn't mean leaving behind a desire to serve. It simply means finding a new mission. Fortunately, education benefits available through the Minnesota GI Bill can help Veterans, members of the Minnesota National Guard, Reserves and eligible family members turn military experience into rewarding careers in public safety—including through the Minnesota State Patrol's Law Enforcement Training Opportunity (LETO) Program.

Fergus Falls Veterans Home Residents Benefit from DAV, VFW Donations

Local Veterans organizations are continuing their support of the Fergus Falls Veterans Home and its Residents through generous donations.

For several years now, the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Fergus Falls Chapter 25 has funded the cost of Wi-Fi and cable television at the Home, allowing the Residents to enjoy connections to the online world and the expanded cable TV programming. The 2026 annual pledge of more than $31,000 was recently fulfilled with a final donation of more than $15,000.

Wilkin County VFW Post 2766 donated $20,000 to support the start of a fundraising campaign for a new transport van. The van will have room for several wheelchairs and a rear bench seat for non-wheelchair passengers.
