One of the beauties of Minnesota is that one never knows what the weather will really be like. As I am preparing this column I’m looking out the window to a clear sky, no snow on the ground, and recalling years in my past where I worried about getting out of my driveway because of heavy snowfall. Minnesota is truly a great state!

Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day Commemoration

Join us as we commemorate the 76th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor with a free event hosted by the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association, the Fort Snelling National Cemetery Memorial Rifle Squad, the Minnesota Historical Society, and the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs.

The official State of Minnesota Veterans Day Program was held Saturday, November 11 at the Veterans Memorial Community Center in Inver Grove Heights. The Minnesota Commanders' Task Force and the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs celebrated and honored all Veterans who have served this country. This year the program had a special spotlight on the service of Vietnam era Veterans.

The 2017-2018 Commanders’ Task Force

The Commanders’ Task Force (CTF) members have been selected along with their new CTF Chairman, Robert Saddoris. Saddoris is Commander of Disabled American Veterans of Minnesota (DAV). Saddoris was elected as State Commander of the 20,000 member organization at their annual convention held in Duluth in April 2017.

War Stories Volume III

Author Al Zdon’s latest book War Stories Volume III is now available. The book tells the stories of Minnesotans who have defended their nation and continues the work started in Zdon’s previous books, War Stories and War Stories Volume II, which document the Minnesotans who answered the call to serve and the experiences they had while serving.
