Desk of the Commissioner - November

As we enter the month of November, the major focal point is Veterans Day and the events all across the state of Minnesota. This is a day that all citizens of our nation should stop and reflect on the sacrifices and contributions our Veterans have made for this great nation. What makes this year’s Veterans Day event special is that it marks the 75th anniversary of the Vietnam War. I’ve been asked to ‘share my story’ of why this day is special, personal, and etched in my mind forever. Here it goes!

Official State of Minnesota Veterans Day Event

The official State of Minnesota Veterans Day Ceremony will take place Saturday, November 11 at the Veterans Memorial Community Center in Inver Grove Heights.

Minneapolis Veterans Home Dental Clinic is Nation’s First

The Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs (MDVA) has announced plans for construction of the first fixed dental clinic in the country at the Minneapolis Veterans Home. Through an exceptional public/private partnership with Delta Dental of Minnesota Foundation, Minnesota Veterans 4 Veterans Trust Fund (V4V) and the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) of Minnesota Foundation, the Minneapolis Veterans Home will be able to better serve Veterans for providing critical restorative dental care and an enhanced focus on oral healthcare.
