IBM's Veterans Employment Initiative has launched, and includes software training and job placement assistance. Funded by an IBM grant program, the initiative connects IBM expert software trainers with qualified participants for five days of instruction on IBM i2® Analyst's Notebook®. At the conclusion of the instructional session, participants may take the exam for certification as an advanced data analyst. Employers are expected to fill nearly 200,000 jobs over the next few years with those holding credentials like those provided by this new program.
Nonprofit and Veteran's groups – including lead partners Corporate America Supports You (CASY) and the Military Spouse Corporate Career Network (MSCCN) – joined IBM to develop the project in collaboration with i2 clients including Citi and JP Morgan Chase. These enterprises rely on i2, and recognize the critical need for new hires with advanced data analyst skills. In tandem with IBM Corporate Citizenship & Corporate Affairs and Human Resources, i2 clients will seek to align certified trainees with open positions, and provide special assistance with navigating the hiring process.
