The 2026/2027 Statewide Emergency Communications Board (SECB) grant program is open for applications! If you're interested, reach out to your regional emergency communications board or emergency services board to apply. Applications are due Aug. 14, 2026.
Details are available on our ECN grants webpage.
Throughout July and early August, ECN has supported the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) activation in response to the wildfires burning in northern Minnesota, helping ensure reliable emergency communications and coordination among responding agencies. With the governor and partner agencies determining that a peacetime emergency extension will not be needed, the SEOC activation will conclude when the current declaration expires. We are grateful to everyone who supported the response and helped keep Minnesotans safe during such a challenging time.

The opt-in period is currently open for PSAPs to select ECN-managed Mapped ALI licensing for calendar year 2027.
Beginning in 2028, PSAPs and ECCs that choose to continue Mapped ALI services will assume responsibility for funding and procurement. Entities registered as Cooperative Purchasing Venture (CPV) members may use the contracts under the N-21 contract release with approval from ECN. Mapped ALI licensing is an eligible use of E911 funds.
Pricing for the RapidSOS and RapidDeploy contracts under the N-21 contract release is available online. To view vendor pricing, use the pricing links at the bottom of page two of the Contract Release N-21.
Both vendors are currently working with ECN to update their pricing through a contract amendment. Our goal is to finalize pricing by September, and no later than Oct. 31, 2026. We will share an update as soon as it's available.
