Minnesota State Patrol Day at the Minnesota State Fair
WHAT:
The Minnesota State Patrol will host State Patrol Day at the Minnesota State Fair, showcasing specialized units, staff, and equipment. Fairgoers will have the opportunity to meet troopers, see demonstrations, explore vehicles and learn more about careers in public safety.
This year’s event will also honor the 25th anniversary of Trooper Ted Foss’s line-of-duty death. Visitors can sign a special version of the Ted Foss Memorial Highway sign and pledge to follow the Ted Foss Move Over Law, which requires drivers to move over — or slow down if that’s not possible — for flashing hazard lights, emergency vehicles or service vehicles on the side of the road. The State Patrol will also have Trooper Jake Miller on hand to talk to reporters about his close call of nearly being hit by a passing driver while stopped on the side of the road.
