GIS Update

Did you know that our Next Generation 911 (NG911) statewide GIS dataset is now over 80% complete?

Thanks to the hard work of local data suppliers across the state, our dataset now includes:

  • Over 2.2 million address points
  • Nearly 500,000 road centerline segments
  • Over 2,800 unique emergency service          boundary polygons

This data will help ensure that 911 calls are quickly routed to the appropriate PSAPs and accurate caller location information is readily available to public safety telecommunicators and emergency responders.

For more information on NG911, please visit NextGen 911 system | Minnesota Department of Public Safety
