Important! Register for Microsoft MFA before Nov. 1
You are receiving this message because you are a state employee, and you are now required to register for Microsoft Multi-factor Authentication (MFA).
Please read this email carefully and register before Nov. 1, to avoid potential disruptions to your work.
What you need to know
Microsoft MFA and VPN (Virtual Private Network) are two different but necessary tools to securely connect you to applications and networks you need to do your job.
- If you currently use VPN (RSA App or a keyfob) Cisco AnyConnect Secure Client) to telework, you still need to register for Microsoft MFA.
- If you work on the state network in person, you still need to register for Microsoft MFA.
- If you use a state-issued mobile phone for work or currently access state data on your personal mobile phone, you must install the Authenticator app.
- If you cannot bring a mobile device to your work location, or have a documented accommodation, complete the MFA Assistance form in the Minnesota Service Hub. You will keep access to your account while we determine next steps.
Get started now
It usually takes about 15 minutes to set up Microsoft MFA by yourself. For the best experience, you will need your state-owned computer, and your personal mobile device.
Visit MNIT's Learning Pathways for video quick steps and written instructions.
