Supervise and coordinate the Department of Public Safety (DPS) Office of Communications (OOC) team that provides and maintains DPS’ brand image via internal and external websites, social media channels as well as other electronic communications platforms. Responsibilities include overseeing digital, visual, and editorial workload within the OOC while achieving DPS goals and objectives. Oversees brand management and standards for digital/web, social media, graphics/visualization, and writing/editing to ensure those functions adhere to brand standards.
The position will be responsible for helping oversee digital communications strategies and tactics for the OOC. The position exists to ensure that digital communications used throughout DPS enhance the agency's reputation and helps DPS achieve its goals by researching and recommending digital communications tools that will enhance and further DPS and OOC objectives, including new digital media strategies, graphic design, social media and video, and platforms to maximize the reach DPS messages.
At the direction of the communications director and deputy director, the position provides strategic oversight and direction for all visual, written and web efforts to promote, support and enhance the image, goals, mission and vision of DPS. The individual should have a keen eye for design, be highly creative, and have the ability to multi-task and manage projects and daily responsibilities within a dynamic environment. The individual help produce graphics and other digital and visual content as necessary and depending on workload.

This position oversees and regulates the third-party testing program, develops and coordinates training for examining personnel and driver license agents, and assists in the oversight of driver education to ensure the goals and objectives of the unit are realized. Assists the program supervisor and program director in the development of strategic goals, plans and outcomes related to Driver Exam.

Forfeitures - This position exists to provide administrative and technical support to the MSP Statewide Asset Forfeiture Program at the district level under limited supervision. This is achieved by implementing current forfeiture program policies and procedures consistent with the MSP Statewide Forfeiture Program and by managing assets seized and forfeited to the district from acquisition to final disposal.
Evidence - This position is responsible for coordinating and managing the daily evidence tasks involving the receipt, disposition, and processing of evidence and property. Provide assistance to investigations by updating and maintaining the State Patrol's records on all district evidence using the BEAST system.
